Loans

  • Teden Mengi :

Teden Mengi should have been given a chance to play regularly for a Championship club since the summer, but a winter move might not be too late. A 6-month loan at Derby County with Wayne Rooney promising him a game-time or at Blackburn Rovers with little squad depth at CB might be his best chance to develop.

  • Shola Shoretire:

Shola Shoretire has impressed with the U23s, but with the insane amount of squad depth United is boasting, he can benefit from a loan in the Championship. Yet again, Derby County is one of the best locations with guaranteed game time due to their small squad. Shola could also fit in at QPR, playing a part in their vibrant attacking side to get a feel of attacking football. A 6-month loan would suffice.

  • Amad Diallo:

Looked set for a loan before his recent injury; Amad could also do with a loan away from United for constant game time right now. Feyenoord might be out of the picture, but several sides are still ready to pick Amad up. Crystal Palace and Brighton in the Premier League, Fulham or Bournemouth in the Championship, or even some foreign suitors like PSV and Arminia Bielefeld all could be brilliant chances for Amad Diallo to find his rhythm and come back a different player for us.

  • Matej Kovar:

Looks promising, and his recent call up to the national team is a vital sign that we have ourselves another gem of a goalie. Kovar could do with a short-term loan in League One, seeing how all Championship teams have a starting GK already. Constant game time could do wonders for Kovar’s development.

  • Joe Hugill:

After a brilliant campaign for United U23 last season with ten goals and two assists in 18 games, Hugill looks ready for a loan in the Championship. Cardiff City or Nottingham Forest with James Garner could be a decent loan for Hugill to find his feet and develop his game even further.

Departures

  • Jessie Lingard:

Jessie is in the form of his life right now with ten goals and four assists in his last 18 matches in the Premier League and looks to have declined the latest contract offer. Selling him in the winter for below his values would be more profitable than letting him go for free next summer. A win-win situation for both parties since we have enough quality in our squad to cover for the positions Jessie occupies.

  • Phil Jones:

With Maguire, Varane, Lindelöf, and Bailly in contention for a starting spot, Phil Jones looks poised for a loan in the winter since his salary is proving to be a massive obstacle for other teams to chase his signature. A loan to Newcastle United or a Championship side would be ideal for Jones at this point in his career.
